I've had a Camillus BK7 for years now and just received a Ka-Bar BK9 that I plan to give to my son-in-law as a gift. I'm considering getting G10 and/or Micarta scales for both. The question: will the scales widely available for sale fit my Camillus BK7? I searched for an answer to my question but wasn't able to find any past thread or post that addresses it. Also, what do knowledgeable Becker-heads prefer, Micarta or G10? Your help and knowledge will be appreciated.

I personally don't know of any G-10 available. Unless it's a custom thing. They might have it though.

I believe the Cami era and Ka-bar era have identical handles... My only "Ka-Bar" large knife is a LE10 so it doesn't count or I'd check for you.

They fit. G10 will have to come from a craftsman though, there is no factory Kabar options for G10.

Thank you for your information both. That's what I was hoping. Just by looking at the online pictures of some Ka-Bar Micarta scales I was almost sure that the fit was identical for both Camis and KBs, but I had to make sure. I've got my eye on a Ka-Bar Micarta model that seems to fit the bill. Finally decided that I don't want to go the custom route just yet.

The most fun is to do the custom work yourself. It may not come out quite how you have envisioned it in your head, but it is something you did with your own hands...
