Question to 940 owners

Alright, this may be retarded, but the loctite needs to be put on the screw threads right? So I would need to take it out, put the loctite on, then play with it till it's in the perfect position and let it dry, correct?

Mine does the same thing. All my BMs do that actually. You need to put plumber's tape or purple or blue loctite on the pivot screw.

Wow, makes me not want to screw around with Benchmade anymore. Spyderco for me I guess.

It's just a couple bucks for a roll of tape, and it'll never run out if you only use it on your knives.

It's just the nature of the style of pivot they use. Any knife made that way has the potential to loosen over time. My delica 4 is like this as well. Reeves style pivots take care of this problem BUT you can't adjust out blade play. So spyderco manix 2's and para 2's which use the reeves pivot cannot be tightened should it develop play.

Pull the pivot screw out, put 1 small drop of blue loctite on the last few threads of the screw. Put the screw back in, with the spine of the blade parallel to the floor you want it just tight enough to let the blade fall about 1/2 way when you release the lock . Do it quickly, then let is set, if you keep messing with the screw once it's been loctite'd it won't hold. it's not going to be perfect, but just keep working the pivot by thumb flicking it open. It should loosen up nicely in about a week.
