Before Y2K reaches us five days from now to darken our screens and force us to sit with a throat-gripping feeling in front of our silent computers, cut away from each other and waiting for the vital electric pulse, I would like to ask our moderators to share with us the following:

1) Their SCARRIEST STORY

2) Their BIGGEST MISTAKE or FAILURE

Please take it as a kinda 'message in the bottle' to our forum community.

Thank you for your input,

HM

HM,

I have to think about this.

My worst experience in life, however, was when the Doctor told me my daughter had Cerebral Palsy. Long term impact... she is 9 now and has taught me more about the will to survive then conceivable. I wish I could harness her attitude and pass it on to others.

I take her on hard hikes and when we passes those who huff and puff... I think it really humbles them as she stumbles up the trail. she doesn't know she should be tired

Are You Ready To Learn The Art Of Wilderness Survival?

I have been scared so many times I couldn't pick one out. The closest I've come to filling my fruit of the looms? The longest period of time I've been terrorized?... The most recent pucker?

Funny thing is, the worst stuff I tried to forget... so I forgot.

Mistakes are the same for me. I've made a bunch. The best I can say is that I try to learn from all of them so they end up being a "learning experience" i.e. The biggest mistake I ever made was joining the Army in '63.... the best thing I ever did was join the Army in '63 :=)

Sorry

Ron

First of all, I would like to thank you for the answers.

Greg, I have to admit, yours was indeed scarrier than I anticipated. It convinced me however, that the 'will to survive' is one of the greatest gifts of Nature, and your daughter got plenty of it. She is a wonderful person to be proud of and has the power to succeed in her life. Good luck to her in it!

Doc Ron, thanks for the concised answer. Please do not hesitate to share any of your great experiences with us any time.

Thanks again, gotta go to do my share of daily work...

HM

PS: Doc Ron, at what age did you enter the Army?
