Remember, guys, if you see a thread that doesn't belong here, it's your job to let the moderator know that it doesn't belong here.
The pendulum (sp?) can swing both ways. We can be ruthless and chop down any post that doesn't belong, or we can be easy going.
I just did a quick scan of the topics in this forum and of the 40 or so that have been posted to in the last 24 hours, not very many were off topic. I think this is a case of missing the forest for the trees.
So, I guess it's a dual responsiblity. We must all act like moderators and stop the off topic crap when we see it (be polite, and notify the moderators), and at the same time, we must encourage the right sort of discussion. It's one thing to point out the problem, it's another to help implement the solution.
Thus far I don't see any major problems, but then again, I'm typically laid back about this. Don't hesitate to bring anything to my attention.
