Question

That’s not the point...OUR LINKS ARE BROKEN!!!!

I have my pictures backed up x’s over but all of the posts, descriptions, etc., are GONE and no amount of f’n backup will ever fix it....EVER.

I agree 1000% with this Forums dismal platform...now that my ‘host’ buggered and bloodied me...my images/files are too large, I’m not changing ways sooooo...I’m not going to post pictures any longer, not worth the aggravation.

It’s a shame as I’ve invested 4-figures in yearly dues over 21 years and as BB King sang it, “The thrill is gone, the thrill has gone away...”

It’s been real and it’s been fun, just not real fun...

I.

you are 100% right. we have backups but the links are dead (ironically since i create my larger posts in Word and save those files, i actually DO have backups of the links but they are dead)

as for Bladerforums hosting pics...that wouldnt be helpful to me. I often post reviews with 100+ pics and need flexibility (I usually create my reviews in Word and insert pic links where applicable)...i also post them on multiple forums (as well as my own blog) so that wouldnt work either.

It is really astonishing to think of how far reaching this has been...so many online identities wiped out.

Hey Mike, where did you glean that info? ^^

I hardly believe it. They would have responded in kind when they HAD a Facebook account, or their Twitter account as it happened. No, they chose to delete my query on their FB page along with other annoyances and then they deleted the whole thing.

Because of enormous dissatisfaction from many they are submitting the 'We had no option' card.

NO long-term data service operates without a backup. Other Dallas Infrastructure Services LLC businesses (their hosting ISP) are chugging along.

I cry bullshit.

My apologies for that late response, Coop. I had searched for the FotoTime website and that explanation was prominent in a couple of the results. Mike

I lost all my daughters pictures.

My 14 year old daughter died 2 years ago from cancer. I stored all her pics on Fototime. I had a seperate album for each year she was alive from 2003 -2018.

I thought this was a good idea so as never to lose them and I could acess them from anywhere in the world.

I have none of the pictures that were on fotoime and each album for each year had hundreds of photographs and videos. If anyone knows about how to contact the owner of Fototime (Karl Swierenga) PLEASE CONTACT ME. All phone numbers I have found are either disconectted or are declined.

colubrid colubrid Try contacting the guys at Dallas Infrastructure Services. I chatted with a fellow who was polite and can probably put you in touch if you have not already tried them.

(They WERE the ISP hosting service for Fototime, and the fellow confided that the French database fire had nothing to do with their hosting. Harrumph.) YOU have a very singular problem: anyone with half a heart would understand.

My images, although disappointing to be gone, aren't heartbreaking.

Let me know PM or otherwise.

No the phones I took the pics with are long gone. I had albums for her pics when she was 0-1 in 2003, 2 years in 2004, 3 yrs in 2004 all the way up to 2018 when she turned 15 and passed away from Osteosarcoma.

Inbetween her 9 surgeries including 2 limb sparing surgeries and 10 months chemo we found time to make trips to Hawaii and Brazil . So many memories are gone now forever.

THIS IS GREAT NEWS. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!

I will try and reach them. I am willing to spend whatever amount of money on trying to get these pics. Nothing is worth more to me than these pictures.

I tried finding a phone number for Dallas Infrastructure Services. But so far nothing. They seem to have offices worldwide?

I am trying to see if I could get people to write this person about me in hopes she will help me.
Her name is Alexis Rossi.
She is a a librarian and the Director of Media & Access at Internet Archive, a nonprofit library dedicated to collecting all the world’s knowledge and making it available to everyone for free. She spends her time expanding the amount and quality of knowledge that is openly accessible on the Internet, building partnerships with other organizations who want to share information with the world, and advocating for more people to do the same.

If some of my Blade forums friends here could write her an email asking her to help me find my daughters pictures from my lost Fototime. I'm sure it would help her take an interest in my case.

Some smart people told it is possible. But need someone who can do this sort of thing.
