Questions - 7/7 and handle material

The old spec CPM steels were around 58-59 Rc.

Now that we are heat treating after production grinding, we can dial that up a bit. The CPM-3V should be around 59.5-60.5 Rc. I'm not 100% sure if that was true of the CPM-20CV or not, I will have to double check that with Guy.

Thank you for that information, Ellie!

Just placed my preorder for a 7/7. Went with the black canvas handles for functionality for now; I hadn't realized you could pick up extra handles that easily. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on those once production gets going.

Also, it's a really small thing, but I just wanted to say that I appreciate that on the bow drill divot and ferro notch, the choices are "Yes, please" and "No, thank you." A little politeness and old-fashioned class go a long way.

Now to settle in and enjoy the wait!

That it is, and it's partly why I'm asking about the 7/7... time for a new lightsaber! :D

Just don't ruin the surprise :p

Very cool! You're going to love it.

Good call on the phrasing on the site. They rock!

Hahaha! Nice find! I was out searching on Facebook and I forgot it already put it here. Now that I found the information I already posted and forgot about, I'm going to get to work planning my own surprise party..............

I'll make sure that I don't say anything that will ruin the surprise!

I have a 7/7 with canvas and a 4.1 with Ghostjade G10…

I've never felt fearful of losing control with the G10 when wet.

G10 is a great handle material, especially for smaller knives like the GSO 4.1. I think we are splitting hairs here regarding handle material, but I personally like the extra grippyness of canvas when chopping,. And the 7/7 is a size that you can use it for chopping.
