Questions about setting up a network in my home

Well, I'm typing this over a wireless connection. You guys were right, I turned off WEP, connected, then turned it on and it remained connected. Now I just need to make sure everything works after disconnecting, powering off and on, etc.

Ok, even more good news, my network connection finally showed up. However, when I connected it says I have little or no connectivity, because the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

Where do I go from there?

But now that the computer is seeing the network, I would go through the steps of creating a new home network, I believe there is a step that needs you to copy a new id "key" to a usb flash card then take to the home computer, or visa versa, it has been so long I forgot the exact steps, but I think you almost have it..
