questions about " the axe is back" series

I wouldn't mind testing these two out for comparison - but I dont see it happening.

In the time I have been on the axe forum several people have said something like this. I guess depending on the part of Montana you are in, it could be tough to find an axe there. I hit garage sales and antique stores and spend some time every week on it. I'm kinda strict on what I pay, but make it home with a few each month. Operator has been at this longer and is more skilled at sniffing them out, and a better area for it too. he gets some amazing axes.

I saw your Norlund hatchet you had. I just got one as well. Little bugger. I dont like that head style overall, it seems too head heavy to me, not balance correctly. Of course it must be me, they seem very popular. I was thinking of doing a little comparison between it and a Fiskars X7 I just got in the mail to replace my old mans broken one (yes he broke one, straight in half). Think it might be interesting to see how old compares to new.

I've got a norlund on a 22" handle. Hate the thing. Balance is way off. I bought it thinking it was the thing to do, what with them fetching so much on ebay. Good thing they are racking up the prices on the hudson bays as opposed to the other patterns with a proper poll
