Questions for those of you who carry more than one Traditional knife at a time

I always have a traditional and a sak or two. A sak for the tools and a traditional for the carbon steel blades and beauty. Sak in lfp under my wallet. Traditional in the rfp with a rag and chapstick.

I like to carry a small traditional in my right shirt pocket, that way I can get to it while sitting down especially in a vehicle. This is my cheap knife that gets used for small simple tasks or lent out when someone needs a screwdriver. (Haha). These days it is usually a Buck 388 or a Taylor/Schrade 34ot, but I sometimes carry an Opinel. If I'm carrying a second traditional its in a belt pouch, as its either a big folder or a fixed blade. Pairing a small knife with a bigger one keeps all tasks appropriately covered. I really like traditionals, and lately I have started to use them instead of my modern one-hander if I can; maybe just for the nostalgia of it, who knows, but I like em!

I am in court and in the jail nearly daily. I usually carry a handful.

Today it is a Gec 23, a 25 in stag, a TC Barlow, S&M grandad barlow, and a large 1 handed modern folder.

5 knives, for no real reason.

I usually have them on my desk or in a drawer.

I Just like knives, and will often have them out when I am reading cases, or putting in office work.

I've generally got a sodbuster (once in a while a trapper when I misplace the sodbuster) in my left front pocket, and a modified barlow in my right front pocket. They are tools, and get enough use that at least one blade will need sharpening every day or two. No "rotation": I know which tools I need, why would I change them?

I don't have a normal carry, but it is always more than one. With me all day/every day, on my house keys ring, is a Vic Classic (has been for decades). Today, in my right front is a Case Medium Stockman with a GEC 25EO in the watch pocket (this is a new thing as I normally carry my magnifying glass there). Left rear has my recently acquired GEC 15 Huckleberry sheepsfoot. In my belt sheath is a Remington Barlow. I'm off and on with the belt sheath and it's not part of my normal summer wear. For a long time, it has been home to my Puma Cub which I've had since the eighties.

All of these knives, except the Classic, can change with more or less knives being carried. Why? Not for utility as one knife will do, but because I have almost 200 traditionals all of whom demand some carry time.

Yesterday, an old Case small gunstock jack started whining because he'd been in a dark drawer for a few years. I'm trying to decide whether to let him ride along today.

I'm off to a knife show Thursday and all the knives in the collection are getting nervous. I'll have to deal with more jealousy and whining as the new boys will get priority. Thank goodness summer is coming and I can start wearing my cargo shorts!

Am I the only one that got the sudden urge to mail Gary about a dozen knives just to watch him try to figure out how to carry them around every day? :p

I'm beginning to imagine him looking a bit like Bill The Butcher! ;) :D

LOL :D! If nothing else, I carry a backpack most of the time, and haven't even started exploring its potential for knife carry! I also have fun thinking about other ways to carry many knives. Jack, you've been enjoying your new WLST, and I've been contemplating various MKTUs (Multi-Knife Transport Units). For example, I keep thinking there's got to be a useful and attractive way to use the fingers of an old leather winter glove to carry 4 or 5 knives at a time!

So I'm glad you guys are amused by my behavior!:p:eek: But, "comes the revolution", and we're all wandering around with just the clothes on our backs, you'll be stuck with your paltry one or two knives, and I'll be a post-apocalyptic king with pockets full of bounty that I can easily trade for necessary goods and services. Then who'll be smiling?? ;):confused:;)

Sometimes I carry more than one for differant typ jobs and sometimes I carry 2 or more just because I can.
