Questions on first Khuks

machs nicht! (spelling may be a bit off there. been a while since "Ich spreche deutsch".)

Actually, Pan, your english is better than english used by some native writers. Good show! no apology needed.

thank you everyone for good advice and thanks ferrous - I have not been speaking English among native speakers for a long time - I used it more often to communicate with east europeans (I live near the Czech border)- and some people can speak Russian in many languages (if you know what I mean) - so I was not really sure of my "good English" - ability. I think I will get used to it again quite fast while reading lots of posts....

P.S. Ferrous, I read your motto "in ferro veritas" - what about using Latin as a "lingua franca" as "forum" is already a word of this wonderful language - so "fora laminae" or "fora cultri" instead of "bladeforums"? ;)

Hello

I own a 12 inch AK that I carry in a Sisco leather sheath when I am in the woods near my home. I have use the knife many time to cut wood ( light pine branches, light spliting) for fires, but I would not use it to chop any thing too heavy, (my 15 inch AK could handle larger spliting chores, but it does not leave the house). I like the relative small size and weight compared to the larger Khukuri. As far as self defense, I feel that the 12 inch AK could take care of any situation. For me, anything bigger than this blade would be too big to carry on person, maybe in a pack. I would love to see a "H.I. made" tanto with an 10 or 12 inch blade and horn handle, built as strong as my H.I. Katana. I would be the first in line for one.
