I've just acquired one and have two questions for the experts. ) All advertisements indicate this model doesn't have a chisel grind on the blade. Appears to me that this is exactly the type of grind on my blade. Is this supposed to be a dual grind blade?; 2) On the coated blade along with the logo and the "CQC7A" is a number that is printed that looks like a serial number. Mine says "049"--is this a serial number? If not, what is its significance? Thanks in advance for the info.

Well, the following is posted directly from Emerson's site, specifically saying it is double "V" ground:
Introducing The Emerson Model

CQC-7 A

$139.95*

*This is the Black-T price, bead blasted finish is $139.95

ITEM #: CQC-7A-BT, CQC7A-BB

A double V ground SPEARPOINT version of the CQC-7. A standard ground version that possesses all the same attributes of strength and cutting power as its forerunner

Are you sure you have the spearpoint blade and not the tanto? And that there is no grind line on the back of the blade? I know Emerson does sharpen his blades on only one side, regardless of model. Is this what you are talking about? With out actually looking at your knife, it is hard to say. I have never heard of a chisel ground CQC-7A.
