Is the ATS-34 version noticeably better than the standard 420-HC version? Is the lock-up the same or is one made more solidly than the other?

James,

I'm going to move this over to the Buck Forum. There are a number of very knowledgeable folks there who should be able to help. My view is that this post will garner more reaction there as it directly relates to the content of that specialized manufacturer's forum.

Jim,

ATS-34 is unquestionably a step up from the 420HC. But I have no first hand experience with the Odyssey in any of its flavors. I'm sure someone will offer comments about the lockup although I won't be surprised to hear that they're basically indistinguishable... dunno.

I had a "Buck Odyssey" in my hand today. I would also like to know if this knife is worth buying , looked really neat.

Harikari, I hve an Oddesy II, it is an excellent design. The ATS-34 blade is excellent. I am very pleased with this knife.
