For the money you'd spend on the Recon 1, you could get any number of folders with arguably superior blade steels and locks. Cold Steel did just upgrade the blades and handles to AUS8A and G-10 from 440A and Zytel, however. I'd still do a bit more research before you shell out any money for one.
The Bradley products, both the balisong and folders, are made by Benchmade, which means they'll be very well constructed. The only caveat is that some feel they're a bit overpriced for what you get. Again, just hang out for a bit, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of other options if you want to go a little cheaper for the same or similar quality.
