Queston about Striders?

I don't know what you are talking about with 420hc but all the Buck Striders I have are ATS-34 heat treated by Paul bos the new 882 is 420hc I think but it is the cheep version for thoes who don't want to spend as much for the ATS-34 virson. I also had a 881 that was a first prduction with a BG-42 blade.

My Buck Striders have ATS-34 steel as well. Anyone have pics of the Striders and the Buck-Striders side by side? I'd like to "see" some of the differences. Thanks for all the info.

Jeff

It's the fixed blade Buck Striders that come with 420HC. The majority of the folders are ATS-34 unless otherwise specified (eg. 887SBT model with FRN scales).

I just found the Strider FAQ list on the website but there's even a better one on www.usualsuspect.net I wish I'd found it sooner 'cause I wouldn't have had to make the other Strider related post last night. :(

The one odd thing I do notice when I'm carrying my Buck Strider 880 Tanto is that I have this compulsion to stab things. The point is so strong that I find myself piercing the oddest things. We had a wooden pallet in the area that I would thrust the point into repeatedly whenever I passed by it. :o
