Hi folks
Much to my Daughters dismay I have turned my 12 year old grand daughter into a knife nut ;-)) Over the past 3 years I have made her 2 knives, a hunter/skinner and a small whittler. I have also started her off with about 15 slip joint folders ;-) She came to stay with me last week and loved the hawks I was making so I figured I'd really annoy my daughter. I whipped this off on a few hours on her last day of visiting. She wanted purple ;-(( and dyed the sheath herself. Pics are a bit dark.
The haft is 16 inches with a through the haft blade from a model T in a celt shape, simple carved handle made from a really old hoe handle of super straight grained ash and a plain sheath. Throws really well. She loved her life which was the point.:D

Best regards

Robin

Thanks my friend. Emily is an amazing young girl who could easily become a maker of knifes, hawks and leatherwork. On her way up she said to my daughter " I like normal artwork like painting but Papa Robin does really cool crafts" ;-))))

Best regards and thanks

Robin

Hey Steve, Yup She's my front seater for sure, a real tomboy. She spent her entire visit dragging me around looking for snakes, frogs and bugs ;-))) Oh and, playing with a switchblade I have in my collection. ;-))

Best regards

Hi Robin, Nice hawk and love what you did for your granddaughter. My granddaughter is a beautiful 19 yr old and a sophomore in college. She is very competitive with the boys. She has to be the first to the top when rock climbing, first over the edge when repelling, and is grandpa's hunting partner. I have three grandsons to spoil also but granddaughters always hold a special spot in grandfathers' hearts. You not only have great talent, but you are a blessed man as well.

Really nice, sir! My 12yo daughter would love something like that so I'm going to make sure to not show her this thread :)
