My son LOVES knives, hatchets, axes, etc. But he's only 3...so he doesn't "carry" any blades yet. He does get to use them with dad's help, though. It's a lot of fun. My dad (his grandpa) helps him and teaches him to use tools as well. I agree every kid should learn to use things like knives, basically they should have the opportunity to use their own two hands to work and create...rather than just push buttons on a video game controller!

Thanks M3mphis. I spent two weeks "baby" sitting for my grand daughter a year ago and trained her well, mainly how Not to cut herself so my daughter wouldn't kill me ;-))) and take the knives away.
