Would you mail payment to an E-bay seller who only provides a PO Box?
Do you as the buyer have any right to withold payment until he/she does so?

Whjat do you guys thiknk???

I can only recieve mail thru my PO Box, there is no mail delivery where I live. I do provide a street6 address for items shipped by UPS. Feedback would be most important to me.

Maybe another polite email saying that *your* payment requirements to a PO box HAS to include a phone number. Then when you get it, call and say "Hi! It's me. Nice to talk to you. Check's on the way..."

Once you've won the auction, your sort of stuck-The time to ask questions-view feedback-asscess shipping costs and all of that is before you bid. If you don't pay your risking negative feedback. Just my 2$

I'm in the same boat. I usually leave my house address and let the post office figure it out since it's their fault. I also use my house addy for UPS and FedEx and they haven't had a problem with it.
It becomes real funny if you try to update your mailing address on the USPO website because you can NOT use a PO Box as an address. Even though the town you live in is making you.

later,

Oily

i have the same problem too--i live in a small rural area and have no home delivery--all mail goes thru po box  :)

There is no problem sending a payment to a PO Box. You are at no additional risk sending to a PO Box than you would be with a street address.

You can track both Money Orders and Checks in the event the transaction goes bad.

Thanks guys. I get my mail through a PO Box also but I also list my legal address.

If you needed the Fire Dept and dialed 911 you would not say; "I live at PO Box XX", you would give them your Street address.:p :D

Just as I would be hesitant to ship to a PO Box, I feel the same way about sending big bucks to a PO Box. I kinda feel a legal address would be helpful to allay suspicion.

Just want some consensus on this one, thanks guys...........

i agree wolf, i would be cautious sending a significant amount of $$ to a PO box w/out knowing the residence address, ya gotta be carefull not all folks are honest these days..........

good luck, though..

Ira, I would send to a P.O. Box only if the seller provided a phone number and their actual street address. If the seller is not willing to provide this info then I am not willing to deal with them. However, I would check this out before bidding.

I think the best advice is to judge your decision on the guys feedback and ask for a phone number. Call him if in doubt.

Thanks guys!!

I really do appreciate the assistence when I need to make a decision and I an not sure which way to go...................
