finally got my pay from the boss, been waiting around for freaking a week now.

fueled up the truck, filled up the reserve tanks, and went to go to the park for a walk , to admire the fall colors.

Got halfway down the block and dingus BMW driver swerves around me and screams at me. Guess i was going to slow thru that SPEED REGULATED SCHOOL ZONE

Well, i kepot on going, got the to the park, looked at it as i drove by and said  it! kept on driving, headed 80kms NW out of town. Had to get out of the city.

Drove for a bit on the open road, stopped for sausage rolls and coffee and then kept on driving. Stopped at one of my favorite logging roads to see if it was open. The logging trucks were coming down steadily. I decided to skip that road and kept on the hey for a bit. Stopped to take this pic from a bridge:

Drove some more, stopped tp take another pic, its a small rock climbing crag, bathed in sunlight:

Got off the hwy and hit a rural road, kinda lonely this road:

Left the rural road and hit an access road to several lakes, found a GREAT spot to stop and have dinner, there was a little granite stone fire ring at a pull out off the logging road. Took me one firesteel spark on cattail fluff and PJ cotton balls and cedar shavings to get a fire going:

It starting getting dark very quick, so i scrambled to gather firewood, using my Khukuri. Got the fire going a little more and then prepped my supper, noodles with fireezedried veggies and tabasco sauce:

Nice. Its always good to get away for a bit. Those idiot drivers make me wanna throw feces at em.

looks like a nice trip to just chill out and enjoy.

thanks for sharing pics.

Bushman,

Thanks for the story and the pictures. I loved them all. I would have thrown in a tent along with the gear though to crash there for the evening but whatever the case may be, I was pleased that you shared this little day trip with us. Lovely country with beautiful color!. It was especially nice to see since I very rarely get the opportunity to see the Autumn change of season and I am relegated to the Florida swamps all year around.

Much obliged,

Anthony

Awesome pictures Bushman. The bridge shot, lonely road and darkened fire pictures are really great!

Nice pictures, Bushman. Looks like a pretty place and a good way to spend the day.

Great pics of a well deserved get away.

Cool knives as well, allthough it reminded me that I can't find my Emereson Commander:mad:

Bushman i loved that last pic of the fire. That makes me want to go out. I love to sit by the fire late at night and just stare at it burn. And dont worry about the BMW driver he must be from here SO CALI... I love the Fall pics from up north. Here it just more brown and grey no real season change..
