Alright, looking for opinions on this one. W2 with a Hamon. Mild steel fittings will be browned. I am going to flute the spacers. Oosic will be left dark as in the pic. So here is the question. Stainless file worked spacers in between the browned spacers, or just plain copper spacers?

Jason- Just my humble opinion here--- I think it's easy for guys to get carried away with that little bit of knife handle real estate.

I'd rather see the guard lugs thinned down or a scallop put into the top/sides of the guard than to see the spacers file-worked, but that's just me... Others mileage may very... ;) :)

There are, of course, stellar examples of it done, where it's the cat's pajamas... my good friend John White's exquisite work comes to mind. :)

Thanks, Nick. I was thinking straight oval guard on this one, but thinned lugs would be an option as well. Everything is just roughed in right now. I did grind the spacers down to round, but am done for the night.

:thumbup:Don't be askin' me for design suggestions!
your designs have been one of my main references when i browse around looking for something sleek and elegant to try .

I'm also with Nick, though I'd go plain stainless rather than copper on the spacers. I like to be able to know what color it'll be a year from now, and thin copper is near impossible to keep flat.
