I just got several of these from Darren Ellis. These are top grade items. Each unit has a male and a female coupling, with a shut off valve and a rubber plug built right into the female unit. The cost is very cheap, too. Darren has lots of new items available, so check out his site. He and his wife run a first rate business. Customer service is their number one thing. http://forgegallery.elliscustomknifeworks.com/

I install the female quick disconnect on the end of a 15" propane hose, and the male on the end of a five foot hose. The short hose is attached to the burner, and the long hose to the regulator on my 100 pound propane tank. This way you can move the hose from one forge, to a bigger forge, to a salt pot, to a tempering pot, to a bluing pot,.... all quick, safe, cheap, and easy.
I will be putting them on all my forges and units I build for sale.

The other photo is of me cutting a 7" round post anvil I am building for a friend. So far I have made him a stainless steel ,temperature controlled forge, with a heat treating muffle; a stainless quench tank; and a post anvil. These were gifts to help him get started at forging, He already makes a darned good stock removal knife.

Now where the heck did he find those? Now I have something else I will have to order from him. I already use a cheaper version of the quick disconnect system but mine wasn't exactly made for propane. I also agree completely about Darren and his wifes first rate customer service. Thanks again Darren and thanks Stacy for letting us know about those.
