Quick etchant question.

What is the best and most commonly available etchant that will work on stainless steel? Regular candle wax will work as a resist, right?

Also, I will need times for the etchant as well.

PCB(printed circuit board)etchant, available at Radio Shack, will work fine.
Someone else will have to jump in here with times though.
