QUICK!.....Help Me Spend $75

Oh my goodness! You folks have really got me thinking now! Some fantastic suggestions here so far! Please keep them coming. I'll keep an eye on this thread, do some researching, and return later tonight with my decision.

Keith,
Good to see you posting again!

Rogers Jigged Walnut Bone : Seahorse Whittler , or Trapper , or Copperlock or Mini Trapper , Or Baby Butterbean , or the Peanut . In order that I have shown . Then the Moki is a great value and a fine , fine knife.

I note that at least one online retailer has the Schrade Fire and Ice trappers in stock. They are tough to beat. GEC made. And all mine are every bit as nice as my other GEC made knives. If you don't have an example already.

Brown bone two blade 23 pattern.

CASE Penknife in Yellow D, a simple but very satisfying pocket companion

Moki Fish Owl the small one, 3 3/8" really well made (you cannot see the join between blade & spring!) lightweight, just astounding.

A Case seahorse whittler. I got one for Conchita in October. In smooth persimmon orange it is stunning. She liked it so much she anted me to have the me knife, so I have one coming in Rogers jigged bone. Sorry, no pics, and mine don't come out so well anyway, so you will have to take my word for it that the orange one is spectacular.

The orange one is just a bit under $75, the bone just a bit over.

It'll be slightly over the stated limit Rick but well worth it and I would hate to see you do without.
GEC 74 smooth oiled bone can still be reserved at DLT Trading.
Best wishes on today's decision and next year's resolution.
Happy New Year to all!

I like that idea. Or maybe that two blade (forget the steel but it's like 8cr13mov or something) wharncliff and slip. It's a big old boy but I think Rick likes his big multi blades. And under his limit. I've been putting off getting one of those too!

Off Topic but.. Keith You still have that fantastic 33 Conductor???

Regards, Will

Hi Will - good to see you my friend! Yup, I still have the smooth ivory bone Conductor. I'm having problems posting pics, else I'd post an update. It just keeps getting more mellow and "old timey looking" all the time. I love GEC's smooth ivory bone or smooth oiled bone or whatever they're calling it nowadays - I also reserved a 74 at DLT Trading with this cover material.

I don't know what they can be found for, but the GEC Beer Scout is a fantastic knife. I got the Soda Scout and it is my favorite folder and one I won't ever get rid of.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I just pulled the trigger on a GEC #15 Beer Scout Knife in Maroon Linen Micarta. Thanks to Mike at CKNet I was able to cash in some rewards points and still come in just below my budget.

The two knives that I was considering when I started this thread were a Queen Congress and a GEC #15 Crown Lifter in either Ebony or OD Green Micarta. I had basically ignored the Beer Scouts because I don't use a bail. xrangerx's suggestion above prompted me to do a little research and I discovered that the bail can be easily removed without damage. A Crown Lifter would have been sufficient since it has no bail but I just couldn't resist that Maroon Micarta on the Beer Scout!

Thanks again, folks! Happy New Year!

Too late but here goes: Great Eastern Cutlery: #38 - Tidioute - John Chapman - OD Green Linen Micarta. A little over $75 but worth it.
ADD TO CART - LOL!

Very nice usage of Rewards points, Rick! I'm a big fan of the Maroon Micarta Beer Scout. I guess I need to see what kind of points I have with Mike...

Great choice Rick! I do like the maroon Micarta...actually looking at a beagle in it. Happy new year my friend.
