Yeah, as others said, you pop it out with the thumb more than you draw. After a little while you will get the feeling of how to do it quickly and efficiently.
When people are not used to molded or kydex sheath, they tend try to draw the knife out by using a small amount of pull and gradually increasing the amount of pulling force until the knife comes out. This results in two things - 1) the knife suddenly pulls free and carries momentum with it that you weren't expecting making you think - woaw that was a close one and 2) you get the feeling that it takes way too much force to pull the knife out, mostly because you wasted a lot of static energy during the prolonged draw.
If you use a short popping motion with the thumb, you circumvent these issues and the knife comes out in a controlled fashion. RC-sheaths are all very well designed for the "thumb-push" being that they are surrounded by sheath material on both sides of the blade.
One critique I have of the Izula sheath is that I find it harder to insert the knife back into the sheath than the RC products. I just find the little izula sheath a bit more finnicky in the knife angle and placement into its close fitting sheath. Usually not a problem, just a slight annoyance.
