Quick Izula question.

Take a hacksaw blade and make 3 tiny cuts into the sheath edge along the top radius. Gives your thumb traction when you push on the sheath and pull the knife. Much easier to get the Izula drawn.

I think the Izula sheath is great but do worry a little about slicing little bits of plastic off the nubs over time. I try to be real careful reinserting but it's hard to be perfect. I just made my first kydex sheath and it has it's pros and cons compared to the plastic one. I'll probably make a few different styles and then sell/trade off a few in the future. I'll always keep the factory one though because it is nice.

Mine is a pretty tight fit. I'm actually concerned that I will end up slicing the hell out of my left palm or index finger if I don't keep my left hand away from the edge of the knife as I try to get the knife out of the sheath.

I have a nice scar on my finger for exactly this reason.:D

thanks for the answers. I don't have any problem with it rattling, as long as it stays in the sheath :D

That was what happened to me, i got an inch of flesh torn off my right thumb... now i learned how to keep my hand out of the path of the knife...

I am confused. I got my brandnew pink Izula today, and I swapped sheath with my old tan one.

Tan rattles in new. Pink doesn't in old. Pink doesn't rattle, tan does.

my left index finger took a nice cut when I took the knife out to show a friend while simultaneously disengaging my brain ;)

Well, my first thought is that the sheath thinks the Pink looks girly and wants to grab it, you know, tighter ....

Which probably says a lot about me, but doesn't help with your problem. :D

That's weird. My Izula's tan, and it was a REAL snug fit when I first got it. It's loosened up to perfection now, but I can't imagine the pinks have a thicker coating in general and still fit in that sheath with anything short of a hammer.

If just putting each of them back in their original sheaths won't work for you, you could try picking up another Izula sheath. I think they run about $15, either from RAT or one of their dealers.

Or maybe it's time to explore the wonderful adventure of making your own kydex ....
