Took a short hike today, mainly to give a little workout and a photo opportunity to my newly acquired Magnum Camp.
First off, a couple of pictures of a frozen creek, to illustrate the temperatures we have for the past few days.

This branch was also frozen hard, but I was able to create some real fine fuzz shavings with my Magnum Camp...

..and then carved a nice needle like point on one end of the same branch.

Then, I decided to make a little stake using the BK5.

Nice pics, Switchblade61. Great knife, of course, and nice looking terrain, too, from what I can see. Looks like it would be a little chilly for a San Diego boy though.:D

Now you need pics showing it in use (maybe shaving ice for Snow Cones?).

ETA:No sooner did I say you needed pics of it in use, then you post some: damn, you're fast!

Yeah, I knew some Knif Pron was coming, so I waited. Nice looking shots, I love the knife/ice shots. Fine fuzzies my but, those things are so thin, they only got one side, LOL. Good post.

So, how do you like it? Would you recommend it for a camper/hiker blade, or is it too frilly for the outdoors, and should stay in the kitchen?

So far, so good. I like it, it has really nice lines, looks "sexy". Surprisingly light for its size, but well balanced. In my opinion, it definitely can serve as a camp/woods knife and used smartly it can easily be a "survival/combat" knife as well. But I am planning to do farther testing and perhaps post it here. :D

I can feel my money slipping away already. Thanks for the pics.

psst...you might wanna look at the "beckerheads, let's roll" sticky above.

p.s. are you hiking this thanksgiving weekend? i'm going to try and sneak out (and not go mountain biking this time!) but it looks iffy with the rain forecast most of the week :(

That's a sweet blade there. I knew Ethan said something about bringing it back. He also had a drop point I liked in a batch or protos that I hoped would make the cut to...so now I'm just waiting to see if it did.

mmm. good knife pron :)

watch out for those ice vampires!

Just took a look at the sticky, will have to give it some more thought.

Not sure on this weekend. Saturday, if I can, I was going to check out a truck since the mini pooper sucks in the snow. Though if that falls through or I have the chance, I'll contact you. When would you be going?

Any other becker nuts in the NJ/NYC/NY area?

The more I see it, the more it's growing on me...adding it to my wish list! Great pics, btw. Thanks for sharing!

damn you Switchy! :D

i just dropped coin a few weeks ago on my ZT0121, now you make me want the MagnumCamp. I can really see it getting a ton of use in the kitchen, as well as in the woods.

where did you go today BTW?

Nice pics.

I don't think it gets quite that cold here in Georgia, hell I haven't even broke out my big jacket yet this year.

believe it or not, It has not barely been cold enough for an occasional flannel.. I broke my hoodie out for a couple hours one morning at work only cuz there was a little wind..

we're expecting a mild winter here.. 'so THEY say'

Nice shots Switch...I got mine this morning and can't wait to use it this week-end, but here we're already in a couple of foot of snow...:)

what a beautiful knife.I love the long sharp looking edge.Is it possible to show a pic of the spine ?So the tapering towards the tip is visible.I'm curious about the thickness .Is it the same as in the BK-7 ,which is excellent in my opinion.
