Mine's a BlackJack.
Just took a look at the sticky, will have to give it some more thought.
Not sure on this weekend. Saturday, if I can, I was going to check out a truck since the mini pooper sucks in the snow. Though if that falls through or I have the chance, I'll contact you. When would you be going?
Any other becker nuts in the NJ/NYC/NY area?
i'll probably do a quick hike in harriman tomorrow morning. gotta burn calories to make room for the food-fest...and one last hike with my bk-9. rescueriley is buying it so it's going to a better home.
what kinda truck are you looking at?
John's gettin' your BK9? Sweet, I'll have to get in touch with him about some pics and get him back to the folds of Beckerdom. He hasn't been posting here much, so, maybe we can get him back in here.

now the million-dollar question is: what will you get to replace your BK-9??
Another BK9 of course! The BK5 would be a cool way to go IMO. Tempted to get one myself. I have the bk9 already, so not sure if I need/want something that is close to the same size...though the BK5 is pretty different, so maybe.
Could go with a BK77. Now that is a knife I rarely see.
As for the truck, it is a used F150. Something for the winter and hauling stuff around. Could use a vehicle that is truly my own, besides the motorpickle.
BK77, whew, now that's getting to be a rare bird. Tomar's had them listed at like $300 I think, I might be wrong. Sold out now though. I was thinking make John give that BK7 up and trade out for a BK9,
That won't happen, he'll be planted with that well worn BK7. If anyone wants to know how to use it and get the most out of it, RescueRiley is the man to talk to. We need to get him back on here posting more of his adventures.

i've seen some of them as low at $200, but usually $250-275ish...
the KaBar resurrected ones are relatively rare - iirc, they only did 300, sold a number of them at Blade Show 2009. they're DIFFERENT than the Camillus models. laser engraved. more polished. different micarta. etc/etc/etc.

when they're gone, they're GONE. no more will be made.

Bladite, thanks for the info/pic. Didn't know they made so few. That and there were serrated BK7's.
i don't have a KaBar BK07 plain currently... just the KaBar 77. cryi'll get to it.
mmm, the serrated model were the Camillus SG series, in theory for the military. there are also SG series BK02 Campanions... serrations are standard on the BK03 Tac Tool of course :>
the S30V models are ... at least 300 but probably not much more than 600? world wide i'd guess, . can't imagine they sold many Camillus variants. we know how many KaBar variants there are, so... oh, and the S30Vs and the serrated models came with their own special editions sheaths as i recall

I thought the sheath was simplygreen or something lol. Seems they were tan with black trim.

i'm not interested in any current beckers at this point. what i've been doing is thinning out my collection and buying duplicates of the knives i really like so i might buy another bk-2 for christmasi just ordered micarta scales for the one i already have.
I haven't bought a production knife in a long time but I keep coming back to look at that damn Magnum Camp !!!!
