quick project to do with the kid

Nice!

Arrow making is pretty easy as well, especially if you already make your own hunting arrows. An inexpensive fletching tool, some vanes and nocks are all you would need. You could also get some inexpensive cedar shafts and points if necessary.

Thanks for posting this. It's amazing what you can do with PVC pipe! If I ever get my place in the mountains I'll have to stockpile a bunch of different lengths and widths of PVC.

no prob bro, i can remember making'em with my old man, but when we did it, it would be on the days he'd go cut wood for the stove/burner, and i'd find a nice stick, then we'd fix it up with some nylon braided rope, thinking back it was way to thick....(the rope), probably like 1/4'' but it's what he had on hand, and as far as i remember, i never got in trouble with it,broke anything with it, or even killed any game with it, though im sure i tried, but what im getting at is it wasnt very powerful...but sure was fun playing with at 8yrs or so.

What is great is I am now a Basic level Archery instructor. Learned from Matthew West, in Simi Valley. I will be teaching the students at Simi Valley Adventist School. What a coincidence. Honestly, I have not shot a real bow for about 20 yrs. It was actually cool to learn good basic technique. There really is alot to it. Looking forward to teaching and learning. I like introducing the Nintendo generation to the great outdoors. It really blows their mind.
