Hey, guys, could somebody with a CRKT Summa tell me if the blade is recurved? Some pictures seem to show a recurve and others don't. And if it is, would it sharpen out within a few sharpenings if I sharpened it like a straight edge? Thanks.

Never mind, I just realized that sharpening a slight recurve doesn't require any special technique; the edge will get touched as it comes off of the stone. (Please correct me if I'm wrong). So since this thread is already up, any thoughts and opinions on the knife are welcome.

I love the Summa and have both blade types , stainless plain an black half serrated. They do not come very sharp from the factory so a few passes through my Gerber DF6 diamond sharpener made them hair shaving sharp.

There is a recurve, and depending on how wide your stones are will you be able to sharpen the whole blade. To take out the recurve, you will need to remove allot of steel and is not easy to do with just stones alone.
For recurves something like the Sharpmaker Rods get right in there and get it real sharp. Also, if you have bigger whetstones you can sharpen in on the corner, but it doesn't give a great edge.

Thanks for the info. I have a 1 inch wide diamond stone, and it worked OK for sharpening a shallow recurve before.
