Quick question on blade shapes

Since I have a jungle king (the smaller one, this has a synthetic handle and a smaller kit), I guess I can throw some comments in:

I feel it´s as strong as a good folder, that´s strong enough for field use as long as you don´t abuse it (that is, don´t use it as a hatchet, it will probably stand some light chopping but I would feel afraid to try).

The steel feels like a standard steel, not a super steel, probably similar to 440A, it can take and hold a fine edge and keep it with regular touch-ups.

The survival kit is minimal and you´ll most likely never use it, with the probable exception of the can opener, which works ok, somewhat, but not as good, as a P-38.

I bought it because it was on sale at a good price, and I too liked the "gadget factor", I´ve used it around the house for simple tasks, and it does fine (I thought that the round handle would be uncomfortable but it feels ok).

Again, it would not be my first choice to take on the field, there are other knives, from Aitor and others, that should work better.

As for blade shapes, which was your original question, I feel the clip is much better for general use but don´t like the serrations/saw teeth.

Edited for spelling.

mat if you like the bowie shape and want a real classic get the KABAR USMC fighting knife. it was designed in ww2 and still serves as a field utility knife in many an army. I bought mine 15 years ago in the rocky mountains for 39$ and with my sak and a small camp axe i was all set.

whatever you pick
I´ll hope it´ll serve you well
happy trails
