Quick question on titanium.

Not really a knife question, but how would I take polished titanium and give it a dark, pitted look (similar to tarnished silver, maybe)?

Living in an apartment, so no power tools available, has to be done by hand. Am thinking of sticking some loose abrasive in a can and shaking, then maybe torching the piece while dirty.

Any better ideas? This is just for fun, so the dirtier looking the finish the better.

Ti is very resistant to corrosion. I have some scrap pieces that were part of a stirring paddle in an acid mixing vat. It is dark but not pitted.

You could bead blast it and have it gray anodized.
