Quick Question, what does "JKM-1" stand for?

This knife was conceived, designed by the late James K. Mattis, one of the most respected members of the HI forum & family, and is named the JKM-1 in his honor.

It probably doesn't need to be said, but the JKM-1 is a really nifty little knife. Somewhat unorthodox in design -- the blade is very thick for its length -- but it's very useful and really, really strong.

I just received one I purchased from a BF member. It is for sure a nice little knife. I agree the handle is a tad on the small size, but more than usable. It took a razor edge. I'm actually going to be gifting it to a buddy who is just getting into camping/hiking/etc... This will be his first medium fixed blade.

For me? I think the Kumar Karda would be more up my ally, but the JKM-1 is clearly a winner in it's own right.
