Quick Review: Gerber LMF II ASEK

Got mine, I bought has I'm a pilot in hostile territory (where nature is your enemy :) ) and I Love it, but the MOLLE attachment for the sheath are not that good so I just have it on the side of my flight bag with some paracord on the kydex. Used it in the bush to try it out and it is a good one, a pleasure to use, wish the plain blade was a little longer but then it would be too big and I do need the serrated part. Nice Review Keep It Up

just got mine and even better than i thought. nice weight to it. grip is great. went out and chopped up a bunch of wood for fun with it. no problem . havent broken out of my fallen chopper with it yet but i ll let you know how it went. otherwise a great knife in my opinion without having to empty the wallet. i have to say i liked the overall feel of it in my hand.

Btw, I was wondering: half of the blade is serrated, does it have any effects on the chopping and batonning qualities?
I would think that you don't go as nice trough wood as with a plain edge knife, same size, cause of the serrations.

So, how does it perform?

It does catch a little bit on the batonning (nothing really major) and the chopping isn't as clean. The big downside is simply that the serrations aren't meant for either task and no one who knows anything about a knife will want to risk using them on that. IMHO and many others the big downside to this knife is a lack of full PE option.
