Quick Steel question

I want to carry my 1982 110FG but the inability for me to get it sharp enough has me getting my 2017 non FG out to ride on my hip.

What stones are you using to sharpen the '82?

I believe the standard 110 From 1963-1981 it was 440c , 1981-1992 they were using 425m then 1993 on it was 420hc . There were some other special runs that used different steel and custom 110.

Does this go for the 112's too or are they different?

Nothing fancy. Smith’s tri hone sharpening system. It’s why i was looking to get a Sharp maker. Something closer to fool proof.
I’m open to any recommendations.
ie specific stones and maybe a reputable dealer to purchase them from. Never had any good stones though the system works pretty good on most of my knives.

David Nowlin I invested in a DMT diamond sharpener set. EF, F, M and C. I also have and use an Apex Pro system. Both do great. If I had a place to set up the Apex and not have to take it apart each time I'd use it a lot more. The DMT set is easy and very effective. I feel either is money well spent and would suggest getting some not so good knives to practice on. If I'm having trouble I use a permanent marker on the edge to know if I'm getting the correct angle.

Yes , there might have been some overlap or mid year change over to use up the blade stock but close to the same time frame.
