I just wanted to give a quick thanks to Mete and Nathan ref. the help they provided me ref. cryo'ing my A-2.
I used the dry ice/acetone bath as extension of the quench, as soon as the blade got to ambient. No cracking occurred, which I was real "nervous" about.
I threw some redwood burl scales on it; mosaic pins. This thing shows greatly improved edge stability.
Thanks again for all your help.

Any time Mitch ! How is that Redwood burl ? stabilized ?

Mete, I stabilized it using the "soak method" in the Acryolid B-72 for a couple of weeks, like I've been doing for a couple of years now, and this is the first time I actually had a little problem with it doing its job.
There may have been a couple of soft spots, which led to a couple of small depressions when I was finishing it on the slack belt.
So, after using several coats of cherry flavored Danish oil, I used an idea that I got from Mark from Burl Source; using spray lacquer while the last coat of Danish oil was still a little damp. It seems to have saved the day. This is actually ocean salvage redwood burl, so maybe that has something to do with it.
Of course, the other explanation is that I just messed it up on the belt.:D
But, the end result was that it came out O.K.

Congrats on a successful build. I still shake in my boots when I think about HT. Awesome design and cool pics:thumbup::thumbup:
