Just picked this one up in a trade. It's got ilbruche leather and I believe he did the handles. They're fairly thin by my standards but so far not too uncomfortable. The edge is convexed and very nice. I really like the blade length (it gave a comfy target when I was batoning). The leather is fantastic.

It's actually a bit lighter than I thought it'd be too. Very, very solid field blade overall though (based on first impressions).

great pics Will.. i really like those(that) Landi MPM's...:D it's a cool over all design.. very user oriented.. i have an MPS.. it's very handy little knife.. i love it..

Nice design - is it a recurve or is that just the angle of the shot? Wood looks great with the black liners.

Love John's work. Got a MPX in the works from him.

I don't believe the blade is truly recurved, though you'd have to ask him to be sure. Looks more like a little bit of a "sweet" spot like on the M21's from CRKT.

Yeah, not really recurved. I don't know if this is an original edge or if it was worked on by someone. The picture is odd though, if you look 'down' along the edge you wouldn't really see it.

The overall style and shape of Johns knives are perfect for the field. The osage and leather just makes that one even better, you got a nice score there.

I think the "recurve" effect to the picture is from the bevel being higher at the rear of the blade, giving the effect of it being recurve. I've got one of Landi's early knives, and it is the only knife that I own that I can get sharp enough to regularly tree top arm hair.

I've been looking at picking up something from Landi for a while, but I got kinda sidetracked on JK. I really like that mosaic pin.

Good looking blade!

I have been eyeballing his knives for a while now. I saw some very nice PSKX models in the for sale by knifemaker area for a while, but he has not posted anything up for a while now. I like that design, and the overall looks of his lineup so I hope to see some more from him popping up soon.

Otherwise, I'll have to just order one at some point.

Hey Spooky,

That was the second (or so) MPM I had ever made and probably my 25th or so knife ever.

Here is an original pic, right before it left my shop - no recurve... since then it seems to have been through a lot. Re-handled (very nicely) re- sharpened - it looks like several times, patina put on it - then taken off... and that is just what I know about. This is one knife that seems to keep popping up. Thanks for posting.

On the MPM, it has been one of my favorites, I just made myself one for camping this summer. I actually got a quote from Shon Rowen to have it produced, I never pulled the trigger. It is a nice balance of usefulness and seems to be able to handle most tasks.
