Quick Update

A quick snapshot of the regular rotation hardware. I have since added some other hardware and of course more soaps and stuff.

This all started with RoadDuck's post on the Q shave adjustable. I had just priced replacing my depleted cartridge stash, when I ran across that thread. That got me to switch to D/E.

Favorite soaps include: Sterling, Noble Otter and Mikes.

Blades: Permasharp, 7 O clock Yellows and Wizamet Super Irridiums.

I have recently added a few vintage that were surprisingly sweet when compared to the modern CNC machined gear. The New Long and short combs both provide a smooth comfortable shave reliably and nice examples seem to be pretty easy to find.

Great selection! do you prefer DE's or straights (and why)?

Nuts, I thought I had already replied to this. Must not have followed through and hit post. Ah well,

I use the D/E for most of the work and the straights for clean up around the goatee. I am practicing using both hands with the straights on days with lots more time. It is nice to mix it up. Also, when there is x-tra time, I find it relaxing to put the straights to the stones for a tune up.

But for a carefree smoooooth shave I definitely reach for one of the D/E. Even the Shield A/C needs a bit of attention.
