I am looking at picking up a great deal but would first like to know what year this knife was made.
I am not familiar with all the x's. I know one of you Case buffs out there will know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks. The Case dating system always throws me through a loop. I will learn it some day. I managed to find a Case Texas Jack model 6292 in red bone at a pawn shop on the bay for $30. It is mislabeled as a Trapper with valadium blades. I was hoping it was older, but it will be a fine user anyway. I got me a new Case on the way.
Here is some eye candy http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages...44,179686514,179686541&formats=0,0,0&format=0
For 2000 - 2009 knives they use X's and dots instead of just dots. So the five X's and five Dots is the same as a ten dot from the 70's or 80's. Each year they remove an X or a dot.
Case dating is a little cryptic, but that makes it more fun in my opinion.
Great deal on that 6292 in CV! Chestnut bone handles to boot -- my favorite!
