I'm gonna sharpen/rebevel my original (440A) steel-handled Leek. My sharpening guide/system (Gatco kit, with coarse through x-fine stones, don't know exactly what grits they are) has settings for 11, 15, 19, 22, 25, and 29 degrees per side. Right now, I have an essentially convex grind (three bevels, rounded off slightly) culminating at either 22 or 19 degrees per side, I don't remember which.

For EDC carry and light use (envelopes, packages, etc), what bevel/coarseness would you all recommend for primary and secondary bevel?

I ended up doing a 15 degree primary bevel with X-Fine, and secondary (millimeter or two) bevel at 19 degrees with Fine and X-Fine for burr removal.

10-12/15 (per side) works for me.
It's almost scary to find somebody who's also settled on 10-12 degrees as a sort of default primary edge geometry like I have. :) Sorry if I've sounded like your echo on some threads, HoB.

With most the 440A I've used the edge held up better with a 20 degree secondary/microbevel, but that's easy enough to work with and change once the primary's established.
