This is the first quillion dagger with a fluted handle that I have made. It will be delivered this weekend at the show in Toronto. 17 1/2" overall made with Matt walkers amazing ladder pattern damascus. The handle is stabilized thuya burl. This was definitely a challenge to make but well worth the effort.
Please let me know what you think.
Thanks
Steve

that is a very Canadian dagger; elegantly folksy, and politely deadly:thumbup:

That is a very nice looking dagger. Based on the pic I would have thought it shorter in OAL.

The blade looks great, but the handle, and specifically the guard, look like they were built for a wider blade. The narrowing of the ferrule where it joins the guard is a bit jarring visually, and impedes the flow.

I have a personal preference for ovoid, rather than round handles on daggers, as influenced by Colonel Rex Applegate for the Applegate-Fairbairn dagger, vs the Fairbairn-Sykes, but that is just my thing.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Looks good ! Hopefully we can see it in person before it's picked up by the customer !
