Quiz - buck 303 or 301 .. ?

Has anyone considered contacting the woman and asking if the knife says 301 or 303, or about the length of the knife? Maybe that would take the fun out of this.

Bert

I came really close to doing that today....hahahaha
BUT.....the era it is from, there wouldn't be a model #
So she would have to measure the closed length.
AND.....like you said, that might take away the fun :)

DC,

Since there are no handle pins, I think there would be a model number on the pile side.

I said that in post #14...
and the OP stated she didn't have access to the knife, thats why she couldn't measure it(post #7).

Yep, seems kind of strange since she refers to the knife being in her jewelry box, but then the date on the post in the link was over a year ago and that was then and this is now, so I'll take her at her word that, for whatever reason, she does not have access to the knife at present. In any case, it seems we all agree that the knife in question is most likely a 301 and I, for one, am pleased that her father's knife has such meaning to her!!

Well the tricky part is that I don't own the knife.. therefore don't have the knife to tell how long it is. I was wondering if other factors within the pictures may give people with more knowledge some clue of whether it is a 303 or a 301.

Thank you for the heads up though.

I believe it was mudguard who doesn't have access to the knife, not the gal who blogged about it......

Hmmmmm; I thought they were one and the same, but on re-reading the original posts, I do believe you are correct.
