This may seem like a stupid question but here goes: how do you quote only a portion of a post when replying? I had a look through the FAQ but came up dry. I understand the quote button, but it seems to quote the entire post. Lets say i want to quote only a single pertinent line of a post? What is the procedure?? Most likely it's ridiculously simple . . . .

Thanks in advance.

Just edit out what you do not want.;)

Ha ha! Right after I posted this thread, I started playing around with just what you suggested. it works! Thanks

I wish more folks did. There's few things more irritating on a wireless connection than scrolling through pages of quoted text to see someone add "I agree." :barf: Tip of the hat to Benchmade Boy for asking a question that would cure that for a lot of folks!

You can also add text and add emphasis to a quote! No offense meant, Watchful! :D

I would also like to know.

I tried [reverse][/reverse] and [flip=v][/flip=v] as well as other BBcode versions and I have not been able to reproduce the mirror image.

What is up with that?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Well, as long as you promise not to abuse it....

And because it was Daniel's 1000th post (congrats!)...

Thanks!!

I found that in my search, but I thought that you were doing it in BBCode. I thought that to be too simple!:D

Over 10 years on here and only 1000 posts? I guess that I don't say much!!

It was driving me crazy that I could not find the answer.

I guess that depends on using a font or fonts that I don't have on my computer. I mostly see a bunch of squares, same as if I were looking at Japanese characters on the net.

It'll require a Unicode-savvy browser...and if I recall, you're using a browser written in ForTran or something. :D

It won't work on my phone browser, either.

What if you want to put a line through everything?
