I hate to do this but there appears to be no way to resolve this so here goes...

I have over the past several years made more purchases over the internet than I can count. These purchases have been made from varied sources that run from Private Parties to Distributors to Manufacturers and I have never had to report a negative transaction. However in this case it would seem I have no other choice.

I met Ron in person for the first time last year at his home/shop while coming out to do some test cutting with his LM1 knives. He was very nice, I thought we had a good time and I was impressed. I ordered a MAU (Paid for in advance in cash) and later as soon as he offered them I bought a LM1 Model 6. The only other time I met Ron in person was at Blade West last year for a few mins on Saturday.

I contacted R.W. Clark on 09-22-2003 via email and asked about buying some Ti Skull Beads he had posted for sale in the past.

I received a reply from him on 10-03-2003 that he had some and he would be able to sell me some.

I replied on 10-03-2003 I wanted 12 of them in various colors untied.

I received a reply for him on 10-05-2003 with price (Total with shipping comes to $185) and PayPal info.(PayPal is fine or you can send a personal check, doesn't matter to me. Which ever is easiest for you. If you want to PayPal you can use rwclarkjr@yahoo.com.)

I sent payment via PayPal on 10-05-2003 and added 2.9% on my own to help him cover the fees Total Sent $190.36.

I then sent him a reply on 10-05-2003 with shipping info and the PayPal transaction number.

PayPal reports the transaction as complete on 10-05-2003 at 07:28:34 PDT.

From this point on I never heard any response for R.W. Clark nor have the Ti Skull Beads shown up.

On 11-07-2003 I sent an e-mail and asked for an update on shipping date - No reply

On 11-19-2003 I sent an e-mail and asked for a second time - Still no reply

On 12-31-2003 I sent an e-mail and asked for a third time - Still no reply

On 01-21-2004 I sent an e-mail and asked for a fourth time - Still no reply

I tried to contact Ron via phone to his shop on a few occasions and left voice messages on his answering machine several times. - No Reply

At this point I tried to send a Private Message (on The Other Forum)On 01-23-2004 at 21:28 Pacific. he received and read the PM at 21:31 on 01-23-2004 copy of PM below. Still no reply.

I've tried a few times via e-mail and the shop phone to get in touch with you with no luck so I thought I'd try this. I ordered 12 Ti Skulls from you back in October and sent via PayPal transaction ID #6RM248941Y170340S $190.36 ($185.00 plus 2.9% for fees) payment on 10/05/03. I was wondering if you had an idea when they might be ready?

I have no way of knowing what is going on as I have never received any responses for R.W. I don't know of anything I could have done that might have offended Ron and even if I did something I would expect that he would have just refused to fill the order and returned the payment. However since he has to date refused to even contact me, I'm not sure what is going on.

To be honest I tend to believe that this was not an intentional "rip-off" as the cash paid for the MAU was almost as much as this transaction and the payment for the LM1 Model 6 was much more that this $190.36 dispute. However without any info from Ron I really don't have any way to tell what is going on. Whether intended or not the end result is the same.

I'm sorry to bring this up but I truly felt that I was left with no other option.
 
I got an e-mail from Ron this morning and "personal issues" were listed as the main issue with the delay in both the product and the communication. He has indicated that he will be shipping them out this afternoon. I'll update this thread once they are on hand.

Wish on occasion that I could just shut down my business with a sign on the door that read, "Closed-Personal Issues- Back when I feel like it or am pushed into it":rolleyes:
 
while we're waiting, i think i'll mention the Clark anodized chopsticks i just got from TAD, man they are cool! nice carrying pouch too.
 
Issue is still pending. I expect that it should be resolved within a few days. While R.W. indicated he was shipping the items on 27th they have not yet made it here. I don't know the method he was using to send these but if we assume USPS I would expect then to make it here (I'm only about 90 miles north of R.W.) no later than Monday. I will post once they arrive.
 
Well, All's Quiet On The Western Front... Heard nothing... Seen nothing... But hope springs eternal and tomorrow is another day!

Well, I heard from Ron that they went out and that other items shipped around the same time to other people have already been rec'd but as of today still not here. It is possible I guess that the USPS ate them. :sad look: I'm off for a week and will post an update after mail call on Tuesday the 17th.
 
I hope that during your week off that your goods arrive. As I understand it, Mr. Clark's daughter is very ill and it's likely that he's giving her more priority than knifemaking. It might not be that and he should've told you why it was taking so long whatever the reason may be, but I can easily understand caring for one's baby taking precedence over everything else. Just would've hoped that it wouldn't have been a big fan of his work having to start this thread.
 
I have sent MO to Mr.Clark, and I have not receive my Ti skulls to date. I will have to check date on MO receipt. Since my order was small, I did not want to post a neg. thread. Just a heads up to be careful.

John, I have no records of any other outstanding orders, nor do I memory of your order. If you will send me out proof of payment, I will ship them at once.
