Is a railsplitter basically a stockman with some minor differences in the handle shape?

Just curious as I am looking at getting one.

In essence, yes. It has a clip, sheepfoot (coping) and spey blade.

It's actually a "surveyor" pattern, a variation on the theme of a "cattle knife", the forerunner of the premium stockman.

Thx Blues - while I know there is some controversy - I have a handle on a near mint RAT railsplitter. That ram horn handle looks too nice to pass up
