So, here's the story.
A couple of years ago I gave some pieces to Ray Jay to sell off for me. My beautiful Damascus/Mammothe Valloton Icepick included.
Ray saw Rainy at a show and asked him to adjust the action for him before selling. The knife "disappeared" from Rainy Valloton's table.
He has promised to replace it for the last 2 years plus. Every time I ask him about it, he says he's ordered materials, it's on the bench, he is working on it, etc and I will have it in a few days.
Then I forget about if for a month or three, and ask again. Then I get the same basic pack of lies. Same runaround every time. I have worked with many dealers, makers and collectors and have never been lied to.
You all should know that this is how a formerly respected high end custom maker is treating a collector. Buyer beware!
