Not been on the forum too much lately, figured I needed to get back on, check out some of the stuff and post some of my recent.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Blade : 1095 - 9"- 3/16"thick
Fittings : Damascus guard, spacer, and buttcap with two bronze spacers and a bronze pin.
Handle : Maple Burl Stabilized by Woodlab - 5 3/16"
Overall : 14 3/16"

Guard and buttcap have a very subtle patterning to them.

This is one i just finished up.
Turned out pretty good, it's got a few small flaws, but it's just stuff I need to work on.

Funny thing was I'd used this small bar of damascus I'd had for the fittings, but messed up the spacer, so cut it off another bar.
Well I thinkt he original bar was some bandsaw/pallet strapping I'd done up. It doesn't etch very contrasted, it's fairly subtle, but the buttcap
etched a bit better. I'm thinking they just needed to be heat treated as the buttcap got a bit more heat when I was brazing a screw onto it for a buttcap tang.
Anyway, I'm fairly happy with it.
Liking the raised clip.

Looks clean, good overall design, and I love the raised clip. About the only thing I would recommend would be to do something more with the guard. Could mean putting in a groove, or rounding over the edge, or maybe going with something other than a simple oval. I think that would really make the knife.
Keep up the great work.

I was thinking i'll have to try some other shapes for a guard as well. Was just going simple on this one.

I've seen the ones with a groove, which would be fun to try, just have to work out a good method to do it.

I'll try to get some pictures of the clip.

I understand keeping it simple, I was just saying that your workmanship looks like it could handle the complication and that would knock an already great knife out of the park.
