Recently had the pleasure to do business with Ray Kirk of Raker Knives and found him to very nice and he makes great knives! I think that he will be someone to watch in the near future! Can't beat him!

Larry,

I agree 100% - Ray Kirk is a great guy to deal with. His knives are a steal for the quality at the prices he charges IMHO.

Ray is sort of soft spoken, not an aggressive self promoter. His work speaks for itself!

His knives show a lot of style and class.

I talked about how much I like his knives in the review forum and I also couldn't agree more on what a pleasure he is to deal with. When I asked for specs on "Old Bone", Ray answered in great detail. He even brought it to town so that he could get an exact weight -- 2.1 oz

.

Ray also sent along a certificate detailing the knife's composition & construction, 2 photos of the knife that he thought I would like to have, and a personal "Thank You" note. Folks, it simply doesn't get any better than this!

Well, I guess it would be pretty obvious to most folks that I agree with ALL of the above.

When Ray designed the Lil Blue neck knives he sent me a note asking me if I would do him a favor and carry/test the knife until the 2000 Blade Show. Do HIM a favor!

Didn't take nearly that long for me to love the knife and fire off a check to Ray (who had never asked that I do so up front). Just another illustration of the man's character.

I have a couple more Raker's in the pipeline and fully expect to own several more in the coming years.

Just have to throw in my vote here. I got a knife from Ray, mainly due to Blues and md2020 endorsing him. I have only gotten to use the 'lil blue II' a little, but it is fast proving itself to be first rate. Ray is a great guy, who makes great knives for a price that is more than fair.

Maddog2020 put me onto Ray Kirk at Raker Knives. Sent Ray an email, he sent me a picture, I bought the knife on Tuesday and I am holding it right now. That's pretty good service and I am impressed with the knife. No doubt, a bang for your buck. Thanx Ray. Oh yeah, I guess I should thank that other "Ray" also.

I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

Don't hold out on us, Big Tex. Which one did you get & can we look forward to seeing a review?

I'm not very good at reviews. I'm sure that md2020 told everyone about his knife and probably did a review. I got the twin to his knife. I would call it a damascus hunter. The blade is 4" long (from handle), core steel is 52100, about 17 layers of 52100 and L6 on each side and a piece of 5160 on each side of that. It is a drop point and has a sambar stag handle on a tapered tang thats attached with stainless steel screws. All I can say is that it is a good looking knife.

Ah, you got THAT one, Tex!

It's a beauty that I was drooling over myself. Enjoy it & may it serve you well.
