This khukuri was made by Ram Bahadur Bishwakarma, the grandfather of one of our kamis who works in shop 2, in his own shop. The khukuri is 23 inches in length, about 7/16 thick at back of blade, and is two inches wide. The knife weighs in at almost exactly 1 KG. It is well done and pretty well finished. R. B. knew the knife was coming to the US which is probably the reason it is as well finished as it is. When I run the file along the blade it sings and tells me it is very decent quality.

The scabbard is what I believe to be black walnut and looks much better in person than in the above picture. I think the scabbard is wood only probably because R. B. had no leather on hand. Handle is well seasoned oak, I think, with flat plate aluminum buttcap with brass keeper. (Remember, I am no wood expert.) Overall rig very good to excellent quality. I will sell this khukuri for $150 or put it under the bed with my own collection.

Interested parties email or call.

We may -- notice I say "may" be able to get Ram Bahadur to make a few more of these in case there is any interest. But the first one went in maybe 15 minutes and it is gone forever.

Sut and Jeff if you want me to try to get one for you let me know and I'll place an order with RB and see what he says. It will be another one of those tough duty logistics efforts so we will have to get about six takers to make it worthwhile. But who knows?

Uncle Bill

No, (but thank you kindly Uncle Bill), I don't really need an RBS. I'm saving up for an AK, and if I bought this one I wouldn't be able to get the GRS I have on order.

That fully enclosed cho is interesting. Is that just a regional thing?

Actually Bill, I'm more tempted by the Gelbu special #1. However, finances are currently a little tight.
Always a pleasure
