Ramblings of a nutter and the beginning of a hunt. (loto pics, a vid)

Great question Pitdog. I am interested in hearing Fonly's thoughts on the inner tube deal.

also Thanks Fonly for the response. I did not think about that but I bet you are right on. Where I was at was much wetter where I was at. I bet that would make difference. I learn something new every day here on Blade Forums lol.

Nope you do not need to send another one.

Thanks again Fonly,

Bryan

Taking my gloves off and then trying to get to my penis through all of the warm clothes I was wearing to piss, sucked, At -40 it was bad but at around -50, I could pee and it would freeze before hitting the ground.

Quoted again, just to reinforce Bryan talking about his penis :D :D :D (Hey - at least it was long enough to pull through all those layers)....
I do find that bare handed tool use below -20oC impossible for any period of time. Under those conditions, having a full tang makes little difference because you will be wearing gloves or mitts no matter what. Best bet is to have a knife with a handle that allows you to use it with hands covered.

LOL !

Hey Fonly how about pulling a section of inner tube over the handle during the winter months. This would provide a barrier from any exposed steel and also offer a bit of emergency tinder if needed !

Pit, I do that exact thing with my RC-6 - the fat ranger band provides good insulation, contributes to better tackiness on handle grip, doesn't slip and of course can be used as emergency tinder in a pinch.

On the Master Hunter - I think it has a beautiful blade shape profile as does the F1. I was always a bit shy on the F1 given that it was less than 4" (3.88") as I tend to like them a bit longer. I'd say go for a custom with the blade profile you want.

Thanks for the pics Ken. If I ever get into a really cold place I might have to try that and see how it works lol.

Hmm, I will have to give that a shot. (ranger bands)

Just the look can be somewhat of a turn off, but honestly, if it works, it works.
