Rambo first blood pt2

These type of knives bring back fond memories for me. This was the only movie I ever saw at the theater with my dad (I was about 8 or 9). I had a cheapo version of a knife like that from the army surplus store and built countless forts in the woods with it. It practically never left my hip when I wasn't at school for a few years there. Looking back, along with SAK's it was certainly a formative spark for my love of knives.

Rambo movie knives are undisputed ones of most "sexy" knives out there - i found first 3 movies some of most beautiful designs (J.Lile & G.Hibben ) along with J.Crain Predator machete with Commando movie knives .... These knife designers were just simply ones of most talented people in knife industry...visual appearance of these are up to date for me mind-blowing designs (not talking practicality)
yep , First Blood , First Blood Part II The Mission , Commando, Rambo III , Jack Crain's Predator 1987 MCS & Machete.

Theses are the MOST beautiful designs ever made.
Everything else made after this is Meh...
Dont get me wrong , they are truly beautiful WORKHORSE out there now but DAMN theses blades are just so ICONIC !

The only round handle, w/ the survival kits inside,
were the Rambo First Blood & the Rambo ll...
Not really ...
Jimmy Lile was inspired by the Randall Model 18 for his First Blood (1982)
The Model 18 was introduced in 1963 and was popular in Vietnam.

I think he was just saying that the Hollow Handles appeared in only Rambo I and II, and not the Rambo movies that followed after that.

They filmed the minefield scene in the beginning of the movie and Gil's hollow handle Rescue knife was used for that scene. Then apparently Stallone changed his mind and wanted the hidden tang bowie that was used for the rest of the movie. But they couldn't redo the minefield scene that they had already done for a variety of reasons, so it stayed in the film.

Either I missed that or don't remember. I jist remeber that solid handled Gil Hibben knife from Ram,bo III.
