RAMBO Knives?

I've always wanted one ever since I was a little kid. However I don't think I can bring myself to spend nearly $100.00 on a United Cutlery piece of crap. I will pay top dollar for a Gil Hibben made original though! If I can find one of course (yeah right ).

I checked craigslist a few days ago for a rambo knife, and saw two buckmasters for sale. Today i went back to see how much they wanted and they were gone. Bummer

Those Buckmasters can be pretty pricey if you go by the ebay listings. I would have never dreamed some of the prices.

Seems to me that the Apparo is the best bet if you're budget-minded. Seems pretty solid from what I've seen, too.

Heres a Rambo knife from the second movie. Does anyone know if this brand is any good. It's awfully cheap and seems a little sketchy.

Back in the early 1980's when Rambo came out, Jimmy Lile made an addition numbered of 100 knives from the movie. I think there was three made for the movie, Stallone got one. The 100 were the same knives, just not used. I had a chance.....well many chances over a few months to buy one from a gun shop in Los Angeles called Pony Express. They had three and sold for $1500 each. I had the money, but could not justify the amount for a knife when a Colt AR-15 was around $400. I read that one of those sold recently for $20k.

My bad, i lost the link. I did see the hibben version of the Rambo three knife. Does anyone know if that one is any good? It too seems to be a collectors. It doesn't look like ill find an abusable rambo-type knife in my price range.

Here are 2 of the 3 Buckmasters I own. The third one is used and abused, but keep it at my cabin and do not have pictures of it.

That one I found on ebay and got a screaming deal on 400 shipped. I chortled like a super villain when I won.

The Jimmy Lile First Blood knife, he made 13 of the out of 100 that had 14 teeth. 6 to Stallone for the movie ( which I heard were in pieces and Jimmy kept the other #7-13 for himself.) The remaining #14-100 contained only 12 teeth sawbacks were for public sale. #7-13 of 100 are worth about $20-30k? Some may have even been bought for $50k? Not sure how much theyve gone for but you dont see em for sale at all.

I'm getting a Gil Hibben Limited Edition Handmade Rambo III #83 of 350 today or tomorrow. I'll post pics up. I paid a decent amount for this blade. Im looking for a Rambo IV # of 100 machete/knive.
